With a background in printmaking and book making, as well as working in the game industry, my illustration services range from the traditional book arts to simple magazine or web clip art. I have a background in a variety of media, from digital art to oil on canvas.
My most popular (and most published) illustrations are of the fantasy realm: goblins and fairies, mythological flora and fauna are very popular with my clients. I have a style akin to the "Gold Age" of illustration (early 20th century) and my work has been compared to those of Arthur Rackham and Edmund Dulac. Most of my fantasy pieces are done in waterbased medium such as gouache, which are quick to dry and easy to manipulate.
Lead times for illustrational pieces depends on the project: multiple pieces (such as book illustrations) need an average of six months time, whereas a cover piece would take anywhere from a month to three, depending on the complexity of the project. Small clip art pieces often take considerably less time. Rates are available upon request.
